A three-month investment in female athletes shaping the future of women’s sport

Introduction

The TAO Fellowship is a small, intentional program created to support female athletes who care deeply about sport and its role in creating more opportunity for women.

This document exists to give you full clarity on what the Fellowship is, what it is not, and what participation looks like in practice.

If you’re considering applying, we encourage you to read this carefully and honestly assess whether this programme aligns with where you are right now.

The Fellowship is not about prestige, performance, or results.

It is about supporting real athletes, telling real stories, and building something meaningful together.

This is our pilot iteration of the TAO Fellowship program. We are grateful that you’re here right at the beginning!

Why the Fellowship exists

There is still a significant gap between men and women in competitive and performance-level sport.

Women receive a fraction of the funding, media coverage, and scientific research dedicated to men’s sports, while facing many of the same physical, mental, and logistical demands. On top of that, financial barriers remain one of the biggest reasons female athletes are forced to scale back or step away entirely.

Being a committed athlete is demanding — physically, mentally, and financially.

The TAO Fellowship was created as a small, practical response to this reality. We believe that even modest, well-placed support can help an athlete continue training, competing, and staying connected to sport.

Change often begins with a single opportunity.

What the TAO Fellowship is

The TAO Fellowship supports a small group of female athletes with a €300 stipend over one three-month training season.

The TAO Fellowship Pilot program will run between February 24th and April 24th.
